Quinta do Pégo Grande Reserva 2007 is the result of a careful selection of wines of the 2007 harvest, produced from the main red varieties Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Tinta Cão and Sousao, grown at Quinta do Pégo, situated on the left bank of the Douro river in the Douro valley. The wine is produced by Wouter Pienaar. 60% of this elegant wine has been matured in French oak casks for approximately 12 months and 40% in stainless steel tanks with a light filtration before bottling. This wine has a luscious ruby colour, rich and fresh aromatic flavours with strong overtones of red, ripe fruits such as blackberries, cherries and pepper. The vanilla oakiness contributes to a complex, consistent and balanced wine with strong tannin structure and a persistent finish with good maturation potential. This unique and well structured wine is especially suitable with red meats, game and cheese. This is indeed an extraordinairy, unfiltered red wine, which will improve with bottle ageing and has a good maturation potential. Type: Dry Residual sugar: App. 2.8 gr./ltr. To be enjoyed: Now - 2014
